It’s always a whirlwind. A trip to somewhere. With five people to keep track of, I am thankful no one was lost. Or our luggage lost. Our trip was pretty seamless.
It’s a long way to California from Pennsylvania. I think it’s longer when the two people you are sitting with are persistent in putting their tray tables down and then up and repeating the process 50 million times. But, we made it and it was a very good visit. Chock-full of things to do and places to go. Some things I had hoped to do, didn’t work out. But at the end of every day, we were tired.
Every morning I was up before light. For the first few mornings it was at 4 or 4:30 AM. I would make myself some coffee and watch the sun rise. My parents have a fountain in their garden. In the morning, the hummingbirds bathe there. They land on the edge, flutter their wings and splash water everywhere. A couple times I tried to catch them, but I am not sure there are any shots that show them clearly.
One of the places we visited was Joshua Tree National Park. If you ever get the chance to go there, do it. It’s just one of those places you have to see once before you die. Tomorrow I’ll post more pictures from there.
